Dr Yun Phua is a Specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon

with subspecialty fellowship training in craniofacial surgery and reconstructive microsurgery. He has extensive experience and a special interest in reconstructive and aesthetic surgery of the face.
Dr Phua is currently Director of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Queensland Children’s Hospital and also works at the Mater Hospital Brisbane. Dr Phua graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He then completed training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in New Zealand and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons after moving to Brisbane in 2016. His fellowship training was undertaken at the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne and at the Uppsala University Hospital in Sweden.
Dr Phua is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and is a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgery and the Australian New Zealand Society of Craniomaxillofacial Surgery. He is actively involved in research through the University of Queensland and is currently investigating the clinical use of 3D printed biological scaffolds.
