VASCULAR LASER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Vascular Laser Treatment is commonly utilised to address spider veins, broken capillaries, facial redness, rosacea, vascular lesions, cherry angiomas and venous lakes. It may also be effective for visible blue, purple or red veins on the face and body depending on the size and depth of the vessel.
The treatment works to selectively target visible blood vessels while preserving surrounding tissue. Patients often experience improvement in facial redness, broken capillaries and vascular lesions, alongside enhanced skin clarity and a more even skin tone. The treatment is non-invasive, well tolerated and suitable for a broad range of skin types.
Vascular Laser Treatment may be performed across a variety of facial and body areas, including the cheeks, nose and chin, as well as the legs, ankles, décolletage, chest and hands. Treatment may also be utilised for isolated vascular lesions such as cherry angiomas and venous lakes.
Treated veins gradually fade over 2–6 weeks, with continued improvement after multiple sessions.
Following treatment, it is important to protect the skin from unnecessary sun exposure and maintain daily broad-spectrum SPF protection. Gentle skincare and adequate hydration are recommended throughout the recovery period. Your clinician may provide additional post-treatment instructions depending on the treatment area and vascular concern being addressed.
The number of treatments required depends on the severity, size and location of the vascular concern. For many patients, a series of 2 to 4 treatments spaced approximately 4 to 6 weeks apart is recommended to achieve optimal results.
Treated veins do not return, but new ones can develop over time. Maintenance treatments may be recommended.
Downtime is generally minimal. Most patients return to normal daily activities immediately following treatment, with only temporary redness or mild swelling occurring in the treated area.
