CO2 Laser Scar Revision

Unlike traditional laser resurfacing, Alma Hybrid technology uses a three-part approach to maximize scar improvement while minimizing downtime:

  • CO₂ Laser Resurfacing – Gently ablates the outermost layers of scar tissue, promoting new, healthy skin growth.
  • Non-Ablative 1570nm Laser – Penetrates deep into the dermis to stimulate collagen and elastin for long-term skin remodeling.
  • Radiofrequency (RF) Technology – Enhances skin tightening and regeneration by delivering controlled heat energy.

CO2 Laser Scar Revision FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Recovery varies depending on treatment intensity and the area treated. Most patients experience mild to moderate redness and swelling for several days following treatment. As the skin progresses through the healing process, flaking or peeling may occur before gradually resolving. Improvements in scar appearance continue to develop over the following weeks, with ongoing collagen remodelling occurring for up to several months after treatment.

Following treatment, it is important to maintain adequate hydration and support the skin barrier using clinician-recommended skincare products. Daily application of broad-spectrum SPF 50+ is essential, and direct sun exposure should be minimised throughout the healing period. Active ingredients such as retinol, AHAs and BHAs should generally be avoided for approximately 5 to 7 days. Any peeling or flaking skin should be allowed to shed naturally without picking or scratching.

A topical numbing cream is applied before treatment to minimize discomfort. Most clients describe a warm or tingling sensation during the session.

Initial improvements appear within 2–4 weeks, with continued enhancement as collagen regenerates over 3–6 months.

Downtime varies based on treatment intensity:

  • Mild scars: 2–3 days of redness & peeling
  • Moderate scars: 3–5 days of flaking & healing
  • Deep scars: 5–7 days of recovery

The number of treatments required varies depending on scar severity, scar type and individual treatment goals. During consultation, your clinician will develop a personalised treatment plan outlining the recommended number of sessions and treatment intervals.
